![]() "You're very calm for someone who's been thrust into a violent new world and is seeing all of this for the first time." She pointed out. "Handy." He commented lightly as he pulled them on. When the flames died, he was left with warm, soft clothes that felt like they had just come out of the dryer. Chan might have panicked, if it wasn't for the fact that he couldn't feel any heat from the flames at all. Chan blinked, but did as he was told, offering the clothes out to her.Ī burst of pink flame leapt from Magra's mouth, engulfing the clothes and Chan's hands in one go. "They're still wet and I don't want to get sick if I can avoid it." Chan said with a soft shrug. He knew he had nothing to hide, and he still had his swim trunks on. ![]() It wasn't a question of embarrassment, just curiosity. Why did you not put your clothes back on?" Magra asked. I don't exactly have anything to hunt with and I think we're going on somewhere around twelve hours that I haven't eaten." Chan said. "I also set out some snare traps so I can maybe catch something to eat. "That took longer than I expected." She commented, glancing up to point out that it was almost midday already. Magra looked over at him when he appeared, and sniffed. It snapped before he reached the top, but he managed to catch it and himself and make it up unscathed. His clothes were still wet, so he bundled them up in his arms and climbed back up the cliff, using the vine as an anchor. He set the snares on game trails in a massive half circle around the clearing, then returned. He was mostly concerned about getting lost while so much of the area was unexplored, so he didn't go any farther out than what allowed him to hear the stream. He didn't set too many, or stray too far out. Vines and sticks weren't best for snares but he made it work. He didn't have any sort of hunting equipment, so his best bet for getting any sort of food was snare traps. Once he had a decent enough collection, he located one of the many game trails leading off the stream, and followed it. The only logical answer was that even the cats here were as fantastical as the dragons they shared space with.Įxtra cautious now, he crept back towards the woods, and cut free a few chunks of vines and thick sticks. It was bizarre, like nothing he'd seen before. ![]() What really scared him, was that although most of the tracks seemed definitively feline, or at least feline passable, there were some that seemed to be more avian. It seemed to be gone, but the tracks were pretty fresh. While he was down here, he checked for the creature that Magra had called an Alphyn. When he was done, he hung them in a tree to dry. He didn't have anything along the lines of sanitization, so he just scrubbed out the blood stains and hoped that would suffice. Once at the bottom, he stripped out of his borrowed clothes and knelt down by the stream to wash them. Using the vine like a rope, he shimmied down the cliff, and thankfully it held pretty strongly for the time being. He would figure out something else later. Putting that on his to-do list, he decided for the moment to just pull down a vine from one of the trees at the top of the cliff and throw it to the bottom. However, if people were going to be hunting him, he liked how hard it was to reach said clearing. Climbing up and down the cliff every time he needed water was way too much energy.
