I was happy w mine and I’m sure to go back. He’s not sure if she was rushing to finish so that she could start on her next appointment, but he said his nails did not look as good as the first time. The first mani/pedi I had here, the polish lasted a good 3 wks! No chipping at the tips! Even the pedi withstood going in and out of shoes! I have to add that I did go in w my husband and he got a MANIcure ) on both occasions, he was very pleased with the mani the first time, but not so much this last time. They are very attentive, the décor is very pretty and the polishes are top of the line in a huge array of colors that are just so yummy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was the 2 nd time getting a mani/pedi here. Although, we thank them for trying to make it up to my hubby, he was not able to go back immediately due to his schedule, but the offer was much appreciated. We went back and both had mani/pedi’s, we were BOTH VERY pleased and will keep patronizing this lovely nail spa. I wanted to edit this review bc Utopia didn’t really deserve a blemish, even the smallest. I paid/tipped in cash anyway but I’m pretty sure I heard them telling another woman in there they accepted credit cards but tip had to be in cash which is pretty standard for a lot of salons in the area. They also offered me water in the beginning which I declined, but appreciated since most places don’t do that. The man who was there (manager? owner? he didn’t identify himself) was extremely sweet even helping me out of the pedicure chair when I was done. 00 and has lasted me over a week with only one teeny tiny chip on my pointer finger (albeit I did some CRAZY cleaning yesterday and was definitely at fault for this chip). The inside has a very serene spa like atmosphere and the seating from the pedicure chairs to manicure chairs to drying station are all very comfortable and tastefully done. I came in last Friday for a gel manicure/regular pedicure and was extremely impressed with the service. As a lifelong Western Queens resident I have tried almost every salon from Astoria to Maspeth & this has by far been one of my favorites. I am absolutely making this salon my new go to nail place in the area. Bertha took care of me but it seems that all the techs seem equally as qualified in their craft - there was a younger guy at the front desk who was knowledgable and professional really making it an overall experience - I’ll be back for sure! Prices I believe are normal for me since I pay this in the city - for queens customers it may be seen as a little overpriced but for the overall experience I think they are right on track. Truly a nice experience, I’m already telling my sister to forget her place in Brooklyn to come here, save travel time and walk away feeling like everything was perfect. I can’t wait to go back after I give birth to try the matte colors. Everything was sanitary which is the most important thing and I couldn’t be happier. They had a lot of gel color options, pedicure chairs so comfortable, offered a beverage, and just did such a great job on my mani pedi. From the moment I walked in they staff was so friendly, inviting, the place decorated very modern and clean (also important since my husband is a contractor I notice these things). Thanks to my husband calling a suggesting I just Unilocal to figure it out I did that and it lead me to Utopia and I’m so glad it did. Got in my car and thought where do I go now ( 9months pregnant). I walked in and out of a back of place I have in queens solely because in two years they are still carrying the same limited gel colors. My regular place is in the city where I work but as I’m about to give birth any minute now I needed to find a place near home where I wouldn’t be disappointed. I have gone to New Pink AT LEAST.When it comes to nail salons I can be a little specific - I’m looking for cleanliness, experience, options with colors, customer service and a pleasant experience and this place truly had it. I have yet to try out their mani/pedi services, BUT.- Their eyebrow waxing? The best I've ever had, and I have tried MANY different salons throughour the years. I was desperate for a manicure on December 23rd- big mistake on my behalf for waiting last minute to make an appointment but thank God New Pink had an available slot for me! They took me in for an. It's like they just rushed rubbing my foot with that. Didn't really put full service as an actual pedicure. They were rushing through the whole pedicure. It is a very small salon and we spent over an hour just waiting. I went here on a Sunday afternoon and there were only 2 employees working and 8 people waiting to get there nails done. I've been wanting to have those IG style nails for awhile, and the owner was so quick to help me decide which style to have.
